I give my most humble thanks to all the men and women of the armed services." I COULD NEVER PAY YOU WHAT ARE WORTH". I only wish I could do more than just give you a heart felt thanks. To my brother, who has left us , I say "semperfi ".

Thanks for the info. I would like to ask a question. Why would the party set up rules like that knowing that some people office is up in 2 yrs? Are these officials planning to stay in office forever? What can be done to change that rule? Can I go to a website and see the official statement per the freedom of info. act? When is the next meeting?

The slating proposal only goes into effect if you sign the contract. Keep in mind that slating is the reccomendation of the party. No one can actually keep you from running.

Hello,

The new proposed slating proposals are additions to the primary convention (slating) contract. The proposals stipulate that if you sign the contract, lose in slating and decided to run anyway you will not be able to participate in primary (slating) conventions for 6 years. If you are an elected official and help someone run against slated candidates you will not be able to participate in a slating convention for 5 years.

Hope this helps.

As, the new kid in town (to this group) . I am very much concerned about some of the things I heard last Saturday. It sounds like to me that if I was hearing right, that if I ran for office . And the party does not slate me that I can be penalized? I am thinking about testing the waters for a seat. Please tell this is not true. I do agree , that if the rules say something we should try to abide by that rules.

What are your thoughts on the new slating proposals offered by the Marion County Democratic Party? Do you know what they are?
