Our Mission

To empower our people. We will achieve this goal through educating and implementing our objectives thereby gaining political presence and influence.  


Mission Statement: 

To enhance the Democratic party’s inclusion of African Americans in decision making, elections, public office appointments and party positions. To promote the active participation of African American community to control its own institutions as it relates to political empowerment, international policy, communications, rural development, environmental protection and community self-determination.


The Indiana Democrat African American Caucus is charged with the creation and implementation of political and educational programs that empower African Americans to be primary stakeholders in the Democratic Party.

 

The organization, founded in 1972, promotes active participation of African Americans in local, state, and national levels of the Democratic process, supporting the rights of the African Americans to play an integral role in governmental and political leadership.

Indy IDAAC

As an organization, IDAAC has chapters across Indiana. The Indianapolis chapter serves all of central Indiana, and is the largest chapter in the state. Our regular meeting is on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 11 a.m., at the Julia Carson Government Center. 

Executive Board

This committee has the authority to ensure that IDAAC-Indy is in compliance with the Secretary of State's office and laws governing the organization, including, but not limited to, filing organizational paperwork with the State and federal government.
