COMMITTEES

Community Outreach Committee 

This committee will work to register new voters and volunteer for voter outreach activities, such as door-to-door canvassing. This committee shall be responsible for recruiting new members to the organization.The committee is designed to attract vibrant and positive energy to IDAAC Indy in the form of membership, strategic planning, support of candidates, appointees and elected officials that will elevate the cause for the African American Community.


The purpose of this committee is to keep with the pace of the city including current events and concerns throughout the city. This committee will also work with media outlets to produce a message and a strong front for political members throughout the city of Indianapolis.


Legislative Committee 

The committee shall ensure that each candidate fully complies with the fulfillment of the membership’s criteria of IDAAC-Indy The committee shall work with federal and state elected officials for the purpose of advocating positions that will advance the organization and its membership.


The legislative committee is design to ensure IDAAC Indy remains consistent in holding candidates, appointees and elected officials accountable to the shared achievements, issues and concerns impacting the African American Community. The committee will maintain regular communication channels with community members in addressing and responding to issues or concerns in a timely manner.                                                                                                                           



Finance Committee 

The finance committee is designed to provide financial oversight and support the objectives of IDACC Indy in a monetary component. The Finance Committee provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the organizations budget. Their responsibility is to ensure IDAAC Indy is operating with the financial resources it has in aiding current and elected officials in running for their respective positions.


The finance committee provides financial oversight of the organization and provides advice and counsel to the Executive board. The finance committee proposes the annual budget to the Board and consults on strategic issues with financial implications. The fundraising committee is to raise the amount needed to meet the proposed unit budget and to work cooperatively with the executive board in planning specific fundraisers events and activities.


In promoting the overall objective of Idaac Indianapolis. The fundraising committee finds, creates and implements fundraising opportunities throughout the City of Indianapolis. The fundraising committee will spread the IDAAC message of promoting African American candidates to the public, while raising funds to be dispersed as needed from the organization.

Indy IDAAC

As an organization, IDAAC has chapters across Indiana. The Indianapolis chapter serves all of central Indiana, and is the largest chapter in the state. Our regular meeting is on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 11 a.m., at the Julia Carson Government Center.
